Hey guys! I´m back and I know it´s been a really long time since last time I wrote to you. I´m very sorry for that, but so much has happened since the last blogpost!
It’s been a crazy year, so many new experiences and I feel like I’m finally living my dream. First of I’ve got to tell you what a wonderful place Denver is! I was staying with my uncle and my cousin for half a year and it was so great. They live by the mountains and the atmosphere there is just so lovely. I got to relive my childhood memory of me and my relatives hiking in the Rocky Mountains. I even got a polaroid camera so that we could recreate some of the pictures my mom took. The environment by the mountains is so calming and it even got me inspired to join a painting class. I met some really cool people in the painting class, and I ended up meeting my childhood best friend Olivia there. It turns out she´s doing an exchange year here in Denver and she had joined the painting class to get some new friends and art skills. It´s weird how small the world really is, I mean who thought I’d run into Olivia in freaking Denver?!
Olivia does biathlon. I had no idea what biathlon was, but now I know that it is some kind of winter sport that combine cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. She thought that it would be a great idea if I came with her and tried it, so as an openminded person I listened to her and decided to give biathlon a try. Turns out I suck at biathlon, and I don’t just suck at biathlon, I also got shot… Now this might sound insane and extreme, I mean GOT SHOT?! WHAT?! But you can calm down, it’s not that bad. So how did this happen? Well… I shot myself by accident… It sounds kind off badass to say “I got shot” but no one thinks its badass when you accidently shoot yourself… And the worst part is, I shot myself in the ass. I mean how do you even accomplish that? Let me tell you the story because it’s so weird. We were skiing in the mountains, it was very challenging, I was carrying the rifle strapped to my back and I had putted it upside down by mistake. Suddenly a moose shows up and I fainted and fell on my rifle. And that is how I got shot in the ass. It wasn’t pretty. I was screaming in terror “MY ASS!” and then I fainted again. Next thing I knew I was lying on my stomach in a hospital. Let me tell you one thing, thank god for insurance, healthcare is very expensive. So yeah, the hospital was the place where I spent my last months of my USA trip. When my ass had healed, I decided to go back to Sweden. I had missed my family so much and it was very nice to see them and hug them again. I had a really great time in the U.S and I got some crazy life experiences and a funny ass-story to tell my friends about when I got home.
Thanks for reading these two blog posts guys, I´m sorry that I didn´t update more. Maybe I´ll do another travel blog in the future, to another destination of course. But for now, I´m staying in Sweden baby😊
Love, Alma ❤
